  • What type of paper do you use for your original watercolour paintings?
All originals are painted on archival quality, 100% cotton, cold pressed 300 gsm acid free watercolour paper. Essentially, this means that there should be no visible deterioration in the quality of the paper or image for generations to come. This is another essential step in the conservation process we use with all originals.
  • What type of paper do you use for the Giclée prints?
We use premium quality Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper. This produces outstanding quality prints. Its soft texture lends itself to an impressive pictoral depth that features deep colours, striking contrast and perfect reproduction of detail. Being museum quality ensures the colours in the image will last for generations.
  • What process do you use for applying ink to the prints?
We use Giclée printing for all our prints. This is another integral step in the archival/conservation process we use. Giclée prints use pigmented inks, proven to outlast dye based inks and we transfer the images onto Hahnemhle photo rag archival quality papers, which has a texture or 'tooth' similar to the watercolour paper that the originals are painted on. The quality of Giclée prints are far superior to other print methods.
  • Will the painting/print appear exactly as I see it on my device/monitor?
No two monitors produce the exact same colours so negligible variations may occur between the original/print version you purchase and the image you viewed on your device/monitor. We are committed to customer satisfaction so if you not completely satisfied with your purchase then we will refund you the cost of your purchase less postage and packaging.
  • Do you supply any certification with the originals or prints?
All of the pieces, be they originals or giclée prints will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. The information on the certificate will include the following; Artists name Title Year of completion Dimensions of piece Medium type (eg watercolour) Edition number (on applicable prints) Artists signature Handwritten date A digital image of the piece The Certificate of Authenticity is shipped with your purchase.
  • Are the prints part of a limited edition reproduction run?
Yes. Our Giclée prints will be limited to a run of 150 pieces per image. This information and the sequence number in the print run will be added to each piece on the reverse side of the print and on the accompanying Certificate of Authenticity.

The paintings are available in three different sizes. The following dimensions are the apertures (visible painted surfaces) inside the mount. Small: 120mm x 170mm or c. 5' x 7' Medium: 147mm x 197mm or c. 6' x 8' Large: 204mm x 292mm or c. 8' x 12' Each image is then surrounded by a bevelled mount from 40mm to 55mm in width. Surrounding these are the frames which take up the following surface area; Small: 253mm x 304mm or c.12' x 10' Medium: 304mm x 354mm or c. 12' x 14' Large: 354mm x 455mm or c.18' x 14' The image gives a visual perspective using a golf ball for scale. What else were we going to use!
  • What type of mounts and backing boards are used?
We use lignin-free, pH neutral, calcium carbonate buffered mounts and backing boards. This helps to ensure the longevity of the piece and removes the chance of any atmospheric pollutants affecting the painting. This is an essential step when consideration is given to the process of conservation framing of the piece. We use this process with all originals and prints. The paintings are also fixed to the mounts using pH neutral mounting tape.
  • Do the paintings come supplied with wall mountings and stands?
All small and medium sized paintings and prints have the option to come with free-standing easel back white frames which allows for protrait and landscape orientation. They can also be wall mounted and come with a folding hinged hanger already attached for portrait and landscape display options. The large paintings and prints are only suitable for wall mounting as they are too large to be supported by easel backs leg stands. They also have the folding hinged hangers attached. The backing support on all the paintings and prints is fixed to the back of the frame in addition to the conservation backing board ensuring a strengthened flush finish. The option to add a frame to your art is part of the process when ordering.
  • Are the paintings framed?
You can choose to purchase the art framed or unframed. All the framed paintings are conservation framed. This ensures generations of enjoyment without having to worry about the image deteriorating due to environmental pollutants.
  • What frames do you use?
We use a solid wood white frame as shown in the image below.

Customers in Ireland/ N.Ireland do not pay V.A.T. on these paintings. As a result of Brexit, U.K. customers will be obliged to account for V.A.T. before taking delivery of their piece. The same procedure applies to the rest of the world where you will need to give consideration to the extra cost associated with the sales tax or equivalent tax where you live.
  • Will I incur customs charges when buying your golf gifts from outside Ireland?
No. If you are a E.U., U.K., or U.S.A. customer then you will not incur any customs charges. The classification systems -TARIC for E.U., Global Online Tariff for U.K. and USITC for U.S.A.- rates goods of this nature at 0%. For peace of mind see the applicable 0% rate here for E.U. customers, here for U.K. customers and here for U.S.A. customers.
  • What is the most cost efficient way for me to order a painting if I live outside Ireland. Framed or unframed?
While shipping unframed reduces shipping costs and ultimately the V.A.T. (sales tax) payable on the package, the difference may be offset by the fact that you will then have the extra cost/inconvienience of mounting, glazing, backing, framing and attaching a hanger to the piece when you take delivery. Below are some pricing examples that may help you to decide whether to go framed or unframed. eg. 1 A large framed original sent to the U.K. when shipping costs and V.A.T. (20%) are applied will cost €149.99 + €55 (shipping and V.A.T.) = €204.99 The same painting sent unframed will cost €129.99 + €42 (shipping and V.A.T.) = €171.99 Thats a 25% saving or €33 when ordered without a frame. eg. 2 A large framed print sent to U.K when shipping costs and V.A.T. are applied will cost €99.99 + €45 (shipping and V.A.T.) = €144.99 The same print sent unframed will cost €79.99 + €32.20 (shipping and V.A.T) = €112.19. Thats a 41% saving or €32.80 when ordered without a frame eg. 3 A medium framed original golf gift sent to the U.K. when shipping costs and V.A.T. are applied will cost €129.99 + €51.20 (shipping and V.A.T.) = €181.19 The same original sent unframed will cost €109.99 + €39.70 (shipping and V.A.T.) = €149.69. Thats a 17% saving or €31.50 when ordered without a frame. eg. 4 A medium framed print golf gift sent to the U.K. when shipping costs and V.A.T. are applied will cost €79.99 + €41.20 (shipping and V.A.T.) = €121.19 The same print sent unframed will cost €59.99 + €28.20 (shipping and V.A.T.) = €88.19. Thats a 27% saving or €33 when ordered without a frame. We pay great attention to detail when conservation framing the artwork so you have a product ready for display straight out of the box! The difference in price between framed and unframed as a result of shipping and V.A.T. is significant all the same. It may be enough that you will consider having the gift framed locally where you live. More information on frames and our framing process can be found in the Frames section of the FAQ's.
